Who we are?

The Mauritius Horticultural Society was founded in 1981 by a group of plant lovers.

Our mission

To promote and stimulate interest in gardening and horticulture in environmentally sustainable way.

Our goals and challenges

• To help in the preservation of wild and endangered species
• To help in the preservation of the environment
• To bring awareness in the young generation of the importance of loving and preserving nature

What we do?

Advise amateur gardeners on vegetables and ornamentals by means of expert advice, films, lectures, visits and publications

For the benefit of the general public, we hold a range of activities such as flower shows, outings to nature parks, public lectures, demonstrations and visits to public and private nurseries and other social activities. However the most important annual event of the Society is the hosting of the Annual Flower Show, which is normally held in the month of October. Ornamental Plants, seeds and horticultural products are on sale to the public at a reduced price.
